Harmony
Heritage revival
From the entryway through to the roof, this light renovation renewed an already cherished home. The project involved reconfiguring the shared entrance between two units, reviving the rooftop terrace, and selectively reworking the internal layout to accommodate the clients’ refined taste in art and aesthetics.
Built in the late 19th century, the house required both the clients and our team to work with care, making calculated interventions where time had left its mark. What began as a modest renovation quickly evolved into a preservation effort, as we uncovered the need for structural stabilisation to the existing building. An unconventional construction approach allowed us to work from the ground up, securing the building’s integrity while preserving its original character.

With generous views over the surrounding area, the renewed rooftop terrace celebrates the home’s setting. New finishes, careful detailing, and a refined layout allow the space to feel both connected to its surroundings and comfortably private.
Here, we embraced a more compartmentalized flow, diverging from contemporary open-plan norms. This design decision highlights a shift towards more intentional, character-rich domestic spaces. Areas were thoughtfully separated to accommodate social gatherings while preserving a sense of intimacy in quieter zones.
We reimagined the entrance to the upper flat, transforming what had once been a nondescript communal hallway into an elegant, formal entry sequence that now provides a warm welcome. Through a carefully curated palette of durable materials, the refreshed exterior complements the statute of the existing house, adding clarity and quiet elegance.
Subtle yet impactful enhancements throughout the property brought a new level of refinement, with particular attention to the kitchen. A newly defined space, separated by slender steel-framed glazing, balances practicality for daily use and the clients’ aesthetic sensibilities.
Our client brought their refined taste to the project, influencing materiality and colour. Classic British hues and finishes establish a timeless atmosphere, ensuring that the space feels both elegant and enduring.
