Art Deco revival
Once a patchwork of extensions with compromised circulation, Greenfront has been carefully redesigned and rebuilt as an almost entirely new home. The proposal draws on the quiet geometry of Art Deco, pairing bold, honest materials with restrained Mediterranean warmth. Structural interventions are expressed rather than concealed, allowing the framework of the building to shape a renewed character. A calm and contemporary backdrop to family life.

A deliberately restrained palette anchors the architecture. Crisp monochrome walls, matt black zinc detailing and the natural warmth of terracotta roof tiles. The modest dormer is clad in black zinc to sit quietly against the roofline, ensuring only the minimum necessary extension is ever expressed. By working with the existing roof volumes rather than against them, the design accommodates a new bedroom with ease, weaving additional space into the plan without overwhelming the original form of the roofline.
Purposeful interventions and material honesty are anchored in the existing fabric of Greenfront. By working with the roof form rather than imposing upon it, and by limiting new volume to only what is essential, the design reinforces the home’s spatial logic and its tailoring to family life. The result is architecture that remains calm, legible and structurally expressive, a new backdrop for contemporary family living.
Black remains a unifying theme throughout. From the external fabric and expressed steel goalpost frame to the matt-black parquet floor and carefully selected fixtures, it provides continuity and quiet strength. Against this, white walls offer space for bolder moments to breathe, allowing colour, texture and freestanding furniture to settle into an intentional, almost artistic composition
Across the interiors, calm monochrome backdrops are balanced with deliberate moments of character. Bespoke joinery and colour-saturated interventions provide definition without compromising openness, allowing each room to feel both functional and quietly expressive - a cohesive sequence shaped around the rhythms of family life and tailored to our clients’ distinct aesthetic ambitions.
