The Forge
Raw, textured and honest

A Grade II listed Victorian home in Hackney, reimagined. In collaboration with Field Day Studios & Miria Harris Garden Design, this project is a quiet study in precision. The result is a home that feels at once grounded in its heritage and subtly transformed.

Interventions worked with, not against, the building’s inherent geometry, allowing the existing typology to guide each decision. Garden levels were sensitively negotiated to create new relationships between inside and out, while framed views were introduced to bring focus and rhythm to the interior.

We believe in elevating the everyday through thoughtful, enduring design. This project reflects our belief that sustainable architecture doesn’t always mean starting over - sometimes, it’s about recognising the potential that already exists and responding with care, sensitivity, and a light hand.

Throughout, raw and natural materials such as timber, brick, and lime, were chosen for their honesty and longevity, allowing the texture and history of the home to remain central.
