Externally, the design restores the existing London stock brick façades, repairing and repointing to reveal the original character of the buildings. A new two-storey bronze-clad mansard sits above, providing a subtle contemporary addition that responds to the proportions and rhythm of the host structure while contributing positively to the evolving streetscape of the high road.
The project reflects Hatch + Mason’s ongoing commitment to reuse and sensitive intervention. Rather than replacing, the focus is on extending the life of the existing fabric, upgrading performance and functionality while retaining the architectural identity of the site. Through thoughtful material choices and restrained detailing, the design balances heritage considerations with modern needs, creating a refined and enduring corner building that quietly strengthens its urban context.
